About Us

Generation Electric is a local family-owned & operated business that started electrical services in 2006 with the renovation of Smugglers Inn & the construction of Bolero Restaurant. We have over 20 years of experience with single-family & custom homes, high rise & multi-family residential buildings, commercial construction and tenant improvements, hospitals & patient care facilities, solar projects, industrial and service electrical.  

In 2013, our team was one of the first to arrive on the front lines during the flood in downtown Calgary providing rapid damage assessment & repair to help residents get back into their homes and businesses back open. In 2014, an opportunity knocked for our owner Michael to join the City of Calgary as an Electrical Inspector/Safety Codes Officer where he sharpened his skills inspecting; primarily in the downtown core and was the Plans Examiner for complex buildings and solar projects. 

Michael was also part of a selected group of first responders who volunteered to assist with inspecting the devastation left by the 2016 wildfire of  Wood Buffalo - Fort McMurray. Michael was also the electrical inspector for the Calgary Stampede for the past four years. In the Fall of 2019, we were excited to return to what we enjoyed most and once again offer full electrical services. 

Generation Electric is an accredited member of the Better Business Bureau (BBB) & Michael is a member of the Electrical Inspectors Association of Alberta (EIAA) and Electrical Contractors Association of Alberta (ECAA).
